I started cycling when I was 12 years old, as training for speedskating. The first years I cycled with my skating club or my family. A few years later I joined a cycling club for 2 years and tried some road races. Soon I found out that this was not really something for me, as I didn't like the chaos of riding in a peloton. I continued with cycling with friends, especially with my best friend Wendy. Together we rode a lot of cyclo's in the Netherlands. In 2016 we had our biggest cycling adventure so far, cycling up the Mont Ventoux 3 times on 1 day with 'Klimmen tegen MS'.

After following the Transcontinal race in 2016 we both got interested in bikepacking. A lot of dotwachting followed and this year we made our first small bikepacking trips! I made a 4 day trip in the Netherlands and Belgium and together we cycled coast 2 coast in England. I also cycled my first BRM, 200km. Now we're ready for our first race! I'm really looking forward to this new challenge! It will be an awesome adventure!
